Since March 2019, the tropical event location has even been the external location of the Potsdam registry office, so that couples can officially get married in the jungle of Potsdam. However also the film and photo industry benefits from the local tropics. The jungle provides the perfect backdrop for commercial film and photo shoots.

The event department of the Biosphäre Potsdam carries out the following concrete measures to promote environmental awareness:

Saving energy, resources and emissions:

• Mainly usage of energy-saving LED technology
• Through the usage of control technology, the lighting, ventilation and heat management of the event locations are tailored to the actually necessary time periods and customer needs
• For the decoration of events, individual concepts are provided without the use of cut flowers and plastics
• When it comes to the decoration material, care is taken to ensure that it can be used several times or as a gift
• In the case of external cooperation, the Biosphäre Potsdam uses networking with regional companies and partners in order to avoid long transport routes
• Wherever possible, disposable packaging is avoided
• The garbage that arises is separated and transferred to recycling and recovery processes with the help of a certified partner

For all unavoidable emissions, the Biosphäre Potsdam is currently working on a possibility of compensation in order to make the events completely greenhouse gas neutral.
